Here consists of two large black and white high resolution images of a slightly open area of forest, focusing primarily on ground cover and brush,
with the bottoms of trees in the background. These prints are hung rather high, floating off the wall at a slight downward facing tilt. Several feet below each print, a small
audio speaker projects from the wall, with no visible wires or other equipment. Emanating from the speakers is a continuous audio track of the sound of a single person walking through
the dry groundcover depicted in the photographs.
Designed to be hung on adjacent walls in a corner, the work creates a complete space. The viewer will always see both photographs, even if one is only in the periphery. The sound will always wash
around the viewer, becoming more intricate the more one pays attention to it. Toying with one's sense of perception, implying both presence and
absence, the work remains a very straight-forward depiction of place.
